We make camp and out of school time programming financially possible for hundreds of children from low-income circumstances every year.
Since 1893, Cambridge Camping has served children from under-resourced families by providing exceptional summer camp and out of school time programs. Cambridge Camping continues to serve more than 500 children annually through our programs. Although we have evolved to meet the changing needs of our families and the community, we have never departed from our founding mission and we are driven by the same passion for equality and social justice with which we began.
Why is summer camp important for kids?
Camp is more than just an optional summer recreation program for the campers we serve. For children who have known mostly frustration in traditional classroom learning, camp is a place where they can know success. Camp provides the ideal setting for building friendships, interacting with nature, and developing healthy behaviors. Camp provides an alternative route for learning and achievement.
