Shilpa has been volunteering and working for various nonprofit cultural and community organizations since moving to the US in 2006. After more than a decade of leading and managing nonprofits, Shilpa is proficient in the field and continues to strive toward her goal of creating a strong sense of community in the areas she serves. Working with children of all ages has always been a love of hers, and her past career experience helped her develop the relationship-building skills necessary to pursue this interest. Shilpa previously worked in program development in childrens' museums including creating programs for children with special needs. Besides cooking, gardening, and traveling, Shilpa enjoys writing and directing plays for her theater group, Jilebee Arts, in her free time.
