Sara DeSimone is an Assistant District Attorney in the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. Sara is the Director of their Conviction Integrity Unit and primarily works on cases involving post-conviction claims of factual innocence and requests for forensic testing and DNA evidence. Prior to her current position, most of her career has been dedicated to physical and sexual assault cases in the Child Protection Unit as well as adult sexual assaults. Sara joined the board of the Cambridge Camping Association in 2021 because their mission to provide meaningful experiences to under-resourced children through enriching and inspiring programs strongly resonated with her. She has witnessed misfortune that can befall a child without access to resources and feels strongly about the benefit of meaningful opportunities for inspiration and joy for all children. Sara resides in Cambridge with her husband and two sons. In her spare time she swims on a masters swim team and enjoys runs around Fresh Pond. She relishes time at Cape Cod and travelling adventures with her family.
