Introducing Berson Eliancy, Cambridge Camping's Newest Intern.
Berson Eliancy attends The Community Charter School of Cambridge near Kendall Square and became interested in interning with Cambridge Camping through his school’s internship program. He says, “After having an interview with executive director Sharon Zimmerman and program coordinator Lisa Owens and learning more about the mission of the association, I knew that this was the internship for me!”
Berson describes himself as Haitian-American, and also as a senior graduating in June. He adds, “I live in Boston, MA with my parents as I am the oldest of two. I enjoy watching and playing sports with my family and friends in my free time.”
Berson is currently working on several projects around the office, including one he is spearheading himself. He is planning a fundraiser at his school with the goal of raising enough money to provide scholarships for four campers this summer. Currently in the planning phase, he’s enjoyed putting together a cost-benefit analysis, and is working through his plan of action.
Berson enjoys working with kids and assisting them through obstacles in and out of camp, he’s worked at a camp before and is enjoying getting to know more about the business side of things. When asked about what it is like to work at Cambridge Camping, Berson says “The staff here at Cambridge Camping is full of loving, and devoted people who care immensely about sending low income Cambridge kids to camp where they can have camp experiences that will follow them forever. It’s truly contagious and inspiring to see so many selfless people working together to achieve one common goal.”
